Photography's sin for the birthday contest is, of course, lust. Who among the community of photography, after all, doesn't lust after a certain highend camera, a special lens, a particular image editing software title, or a discontinued film type? (Yes, I mean you.)

Lust can mean strictly sexual lust, although it is also common to speak of a ‘lust for life’, "’lust for blood (bloodlust for short)’, or a ‘lust for power’ or other goals. The Greek word which translates as lust is epithymia (επιθυμια ), which also is translated into English as ‘to covet’.”

“A frequent visual symbol for the sin of lust is the color blue; for instance, that is the color of the cover of the book Lust in The Seven Deadly Sins series published by the Oxford University Press.”

Many associate red with the color of lust, but blue is the color of lust. Lust can take many shapes and forms, though, so let your imagination go wild for this contest celebrating lust’s symbolic color! The possibilities are endless.

6. Adjustments allowed are moderate curves, levels, brightness/contrast, etc.
