Artist's Comments

A single swirl from the inner of a dandelion isolated . I have made a doctor to get one of them singled out, talk about patience.

Enjoy & Thank you

Nikon D200 | Tamoron 90mm 2.8 | Kenko Extension Tubes | Cropped to square for deviation , print is in square and rectangle

For *Ex-po-zure AP101 :

Subject : I was told it is the biforked stigmas covered in pollen, with an approx. size of 2mm , harvested out of a dandelion with a small tweezer ( not easy because its hard not to destroy them ) , taped on the edge of a glass with clear tape ( in my next life I become a doctor )
Place taken : 4 Season sunroom with 2 full open sides , therefore same as outside but wind covered and natural light ( background is a natural backdrop of grass and trees )
Camera set up : Nikon D200 + 90mm Tamron 1:1 2.8 macro Lens + 12, 20 and 36mm Kenko extension tubes + Tripod + remote shutter release .
Image shot in NEF ( Nikon RAW )
Master lens focal length : 90mm , extensions 68mm
Metering Mode: Center-weighted average
1/100 | f/16 set aperture
Exposure Mode : manual
Sensitivity: ISO 250
White Balance: Fluorescent
Temperature: 3700K

Processed in CS3 Raw plug in , contrast adjusted + minor color noise removal in the background, opened with CS3 cropped to square , done. The set up took almost 2 hours and 10 shots, the processing 5 minutes. I rather make the set up right instead of spending too much time fiddling in CS3 ( which I do not understand too much anyway ) .
