Please read FAQ#80 for how to insert a stamp in your journal As some of you may already know (and for the benefit of those that don't...), Nadia aka ^bleedsopretty who is a GD of the Resources gallery alongside Nick ^thespook, has recently been diagnosed with an advanced case of Multiple Sclerosis (MS)... MS is, at best, an unpredictable and debilitating illness that through the formation of lesions (scars) and inflammation affects the central nervous system. Symptoms are wide ranging and often severe including loss of movement and sensation, loss of coordination, visual impairment and speech impairment as well as severe pain. It's a progressive illness which currently has no cure. Fortunately there are medications and treatments that can be administered to slow it's progress and arrest temporarily the appearance of new symptoms. Unfortunately for Nadia, most of her treatments have resulted in further attacks and adverse side effects and, as a result, she is currently looking to undergo a course of chemotherapy aimed at subduing her overactive immune system as a last resort. Nadia and Nick have been together for some years, despite Nick living thousands of miles away in Australia. Nick has been a constant source of support for Nadia throughout the progression of her illness and at this very moment is preparing to travel to the US to finally be with Nadia full time.
